I am an award-winning director and editor but began my career in the industry in front of the camera as a young actor. I starred in several films and television shows, including Disney's Homeward Bound movies, before studying filmmaking at USC.
I have worked as an editor on films with prestigious directors such as Duwayne Dunham on the upcoming David Lynch-produced film The Legend of the Happy Worker, Steven Spielberg on a documentary on the restoration of Jaws, and on several trailers & commercials for Michael Bay. My first collaboration with Bryan Singer, Monument (2026) has been a watershed moment creatively, one in which he's been able to draw from my experiences as an actor, editor, writer, and music producer to bring a distinct perspective to the production. I edited, co-produced the film & score.
I honed my skills as an editor by creating some of the most impactful and popular trailers of the last two decades. Theatrical trailers for Harry Potter, TRON: Legacy, Transformers, Drive, Spirited Away, and VAL are just a few examples of the over one hundred successful movie campaigns I have worked on. With multiple Clio and Golden Trailer Awards, I bring expertise across a wide variety of genres and styles to all his film projects. I currently edit for my own production company Evolver Creative in Los Angeles. With a client roster that includes AppleStudios, RedBullStudios, NBCUniversal, Warner Brothers, National Geographic, FilmDistrict and Disney.
I directed the award winning short film Penny which played at over 25 film festivals. The film stars Reginald Vel-Johnson, Don Stark and Lance Barber and reflects my penchant for magical realism. I also directed the short film The Secret Admirer.
Amazing Animals, a 20 episode kids series I co-created for National Geographic won the Cynopsis Kids !magination Award for best interstitial series. The series along with two other NatGeo shows featured on NatGeoKids channel, FoxMundo and Disney+.
As a screenwriter and together with my writing partner Andrew Levine I was commissioned to adapt the best selling books series Mysteries In Our National Parks by National Geographic. Our latest collaborations include Otter Space an animated feature film was a TOP 5 Finalist in the Final Draft Big Break Awards and recently turned into a 10 episode narrative podcast which Benj directed. Thall and Levine’s previous script White Elephant was also a TOP 5 Finalist.
For over 20 years I have donated my time to the “Young Storytellers Foundation” which mentors at risk youth in the Los Angeles public school system.
I lives in Los Angeles with my wife and their goldendoodle Twila.
